The Secret She Keeps

£850.00

Overall Framed Size: 42 x 46cm

Robert Wyatt

Robert Wyatt is an entirely self-taught artist, although his inspiration is drawn from the highly trained Renaissance painters, in particular those of northern Europe. A relative latecomer to the art world (his first commercial exhibition was in 2002 at the age of 36) he enjoyed a rapid increase in demand for his exhibition pieces, commissioned work and limited-edition prints. Robert’s work has been exhibited at London’s Mall Gallery and Leeds City art Gallery along with several commercial galleries with pieces finding homes in collections throughout the UK and the Continent.

The techniques used in creation of the paintings are similar to those pioneered by the Old Masters, but with a contemporary and unique approach. Each piece is the result of a painstaking process which requires extensive planning, accurate draughtsmanship and the use of many layers, or glazes of paint.
