Our Story

Starting out in the early 80s in an extended garden workshop Freddie Owen and son Billy began supplying local Yorkshire artist's with hand made frames for their public exhibitions throughout the area. It wasn't long before a workshop and art gallery opened up to the public to supply artwork and picture frames direct to the public and named Kingswear Gallery after its location on Kingswear retail parade in the Austhorpe estate East Leeds.

Over the first 12 - 15 years in business Fred’s daughter Elizabeth and daughter in law Nicola also helped out at Kingswear Gallery along with Mr and Mrs Owen and their son.

At the turn of the Millennium Bill and Nicola became the new owners and with addition of an experienced picture framer Neil Dixon, Kingswear expanded again now incorporating an art printing service in house offering a unique service to artists and public alike.

In 2016 Aaron, Bill's son joined the team and took like a duck to water to his new found profession proving quickly that he was soon going to prove a great asset to Bill and Neil.

Today the business is still a family based concern now housing three highly skilled framers and design print studio where artists and photographers can reproduce their own creations into prints and have them framed.

Our mission is simple, to bring affordable art and inspiring framing service to everyone and make good friends in the process.
